CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Saturday will mark 7th Annual Christmas in July Toy Run to benefit the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The ride is Sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion and Clearfield Cycle Club.

This year the run is dedicated to Heather miller from Osterburgh, PA. Heather fought and lost a courageous battle with Ewing Sarcoma in January, 2010.

Last year's event raised over $5,000.  Here are some of the details of this year's run...


When - Saturday, July 24, 2010. Registration is between 12 - 1 p.m. .

Where - Begins and ends at Lawrence Hall, 321 Mill Road, Clearfield, PA.

Stops - 1st Lawrence Hall, 2nd, Cooney's Tavern, 3rd Quehanna Motor Lodge, 4th Big Trout Inn, 5th Return to Lawrence Hall

Food will be provided with a cash bar upon return to Lawrence Hall. Prizes will be awarded at approximately 7 p.m. . Entertainment will be provided by the band, "Wide Open". There is a cover charge of $5 per person wishing to attend the dance only if they don't participate in the ride.

Benefits - All proceeds are used to purchase toys, games, items and will be presented to Children's Hospital in memory of Heather Miller.

Cost - Entry fee is $10 per person, or the donation of a toy. There is an additional $10 fee for riding the provided chartered bus for the event if you wish to.

Prizes - Cash prizes awarded for high and low rolls. There will also be door prizes.

Additional Information - If you don't own a motorcycle, automobiles are welcome and encouraged. If you want to participate but can't, you can still donate to this cause.
