Opening Day for Local Amusement Park

TIPTON, BLAIR COUNTY -  Not even rain could stop folks from coming to Delgrosso's opening day. Luann Rabenstein surprised her grandson.

"I told him last night I had a surprise for him today.  He kept bugging me and asking what it was, I wouldn't tell him so we had to shut his eyes when we were about half way here until we got into the park," she said.

"I was shocked we were here," Rabenstein's grandson, Adias Arnsparger, said.

Adias is 11 years-old. He likes the rides, but really likes the games with sports involved. The amusement park is celebrating 63 years in operation. Luann remembers coming to the park as a kid.

"A lot of memories yeah, but it's changed a lot. It's bigger now then what it was when we were kids." Rabenstein said.

A lot has changed, new rides, more food, but now the park is focused on getting tourist from out of state. Crider says,

"More and more marketing efforts are south of here since I-99. It really has helped a lot in Maryland, West Virgina areas," DelGrosso General Manager Carl Crider said."

Either way, the park is a must stop for some people.

"I always have to get a funnel cake and candy apple before I leave here," Rabenstein laughed.
