A ridge of high pressure will then settle over the region for end of the work week. Thursday will be a cooler day despite a good deal of sunshine. Temperatures will only reach into the 60s to near 70 despite that sunshine. A clear sky and light winds will set the stage for a cool night Thursday night, but it is later in the season and this air mass will modify quickly. Friday will be warmer day with some sunshine pushing temperatures into the upper 70s. Saturday and Sunday will be summer-like with partial sunshine and highs in the 70s to near 80. A pop up shower or thunderstorm can not be ruled out over the weekend but we'll probably have to wait until early next week for a better chance for some showers and thunderstorms. As of now, it just looks like the chance for a couple of showers and thunderstorms sometime later Monday into Tuesday, though we are going to have to watch a system passing off of the East Coast. There are some indications that the system may try to track inland. If that happens there could be a cooler, steadier rainfall, but right now the odds of that happening are fairly small and we will just have to watch the situation.
