Joe's Resort Review:
This review really should be considered for not only Timberline, but also Canaan Valley. These are the other two resorts in East Central West Virginia and a pass to one gets you to both. Now I will have to admit that I have yet to make it to these resorts, but it is on my list to do this year. Though a review is needed as many in central PA have gone and said they enjoy this resort.
Because of my lack of experience at this resort, I can't say for sure whom this resort is best suited. So we'll just say it's good for those who want to try some new slopes. Timberline does have decent terrain with a 1,000 foot vertical. There is over 9 acres of skiable terrain over 36 slopes. The longest trail is actually 2 miles long and boasts to be the longest trail in the south. Add in Canaan's slopes, you have over 70 slopes to choose from.
The top of Timberline is over 4,200 feet which puts it in great line for upslope snow giving an average snowfall of over 150". This makes the resort a place known to have new snow quite frequently.
