Diana and Terry Miller saw a story done on WTAJ by reporter Danielle Krout. The story was very familiar to them because they lived through a similar situation.
Danielle's story, shown on Valentine's Day, featured the Bracken's from Ebensburg, Cambria County. Mike Bracken is in desperate need of a kidney. But doctors were having trouble finding a donor, until they checked to see if Mike's wife was a match. She was. Lorie Bracken will donate a kidney to help her husband in an operation scheduled for next week.
The Miller's were inspired. They contacted Central PA Live and WTAJ to share their own story. Years ago, Diana needed a kidney. After going through a donor match service, associated with UPMC, she found out her own husband Terry was a match for her. He donated a kidney to save his wife and both are doing fine today.
