Stockings for Troops at Myers Elementary

Updated: October 25, 2012
The school-wide service project launched today at Myers Elementary in Bellwood to send 500 stockings to our heroes serving on the front lines in Afghanistan.
Students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners will donate all of the items to fill the stockings. The PTO and local businesses will contribute funds to support the cost of shipping the stockings. PTO volunteers will sort the donated items from November 1st - 14th and set up an assembly line for the children. Every student will bring their hand-made card for a service member on November 15th, pick items from each box and stuff their own stocking.
Military Families Ministry's goal is to unite the military families in each community to encourage each other while participating in service projects to support our troops. To learn more about MFM, visit their website at www.militaryfamiliesministry.com
