There are many ways your identity can be stolen. There are also many steps you can take to help protect your identity. Shredding personal documents is one way, but find out how you can prevent your identity from being stolen.

Ever wonder what you should shred to keep you identity safe? And, how long should you keep your personal documents before shredding them?
What should I be shredding to protect my identity?
How long should I keep personal documents?
Thanks to those of you who have come to our free shredding events in Altoona, Johnstown, State College and Huntingdon this year. During these three events, we have shredded more than 36,000 pounds of paper.
Not
only do these events help protect your personal information, but
Burgmeier's takes all of the shredded paper and recycles it, which
in turns helps protect our environment by saving trees.

Do you have documents like tax papers or bank statements that you want to get rid of, but have no way of safely disposing of them? With reports of identity theft on the rise, it is important to dispose of these financial records properly.
WTAJ's Central PA Green and Burgmeier's Shredding are teaming up to provide a free day of residential document shredding on Wednesday, September 15th at the parking lot of Hoss's Steak and Sea in DuBois. Not only is this a great opportunity to get rid of clutter in your home, but it's also a great way to help the environment by recycling!
