One Man's Diagnosis of Dyslexia Leads to Success

Nelson Lauver graduated from high school, but didn't know how to read or write. His life wasn't going anywhere until a diagnosis gave him the confidence to change his future.

Lauver shared his amazing story at Moshannon Valley School District today. He says, he fell through the cracks as a young boy and was ill-prepared to deal with the education system because he couldn't learn like the rest of his classmates.  He graduated, but still struggled to read. Lauver says he was able to find work, but still wasn't on the right path, until a chance encounter gave his life meaning. He learned that he have dyslexia. That changed his life's path.  Today, Nelson is an author, journalist, advocate and speaker who shares his own story as a way of helping others achieve their highest and best.

Nelson is the host and creator of The American Storyteller Radio Journal.  From 2001 until he retired the series in 2010 The American Storyteller was broadcast daily on over 100 radio stations across the country.  2011 marked the release of his award-winning memoir, "Most UnLikely to Succeed" - an inspirational story of hope and determination against seemingly insurmountable odds. A natural communicator and humorist, Nelson is a highly regarded speaker who shares his own story as a way of helping others to realize their maximum potential.
