Updated: Monday Evening, February 11th
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

Even though today started off with some clouds, the return of a westerly wind and some sunshine helped to surge the temperature to springlike levels with the mercury approaching 60 in some spots. A front did push off to our east, and in its wake, it will be quite windy and a little chillier tonight. Some wind gusts will reach over 45mph and because of that, a wind advisory is in effect for northern Clinton, northern Centre, Blair, Bedford, Somerset, Cambria, Indiana, Clearfield, Jefferson, Elk and Cameron counties though the early morning hours. As the chillier air moves in, there will be some clouds with scattered sprinkles and flurries. Lows will range from the middle 20s in the higher elevations to the middle 30s in the valley spots but the wind will make it feel colder than that. The wind will slowly diminish on Tuesday with times of clouds and sunshine. There will be more clouds near and north of I-80 and west of I-99 where there can be a flurry in a few spots, especially during the morning. Temperatures will hold fairly flat on Tuesday with highs only in the middle to upper 30s. A disturbance passing close to the region will bring some snow showers or a period of light snow later Wednesday. Thursday will feature at least partial sunshine before another disturbance bring some flurries or snow showers later Thursday into Friday. Snow showers are also likely on Saturday followed by another brief cold blast later in the weekend.
