What a difference a day can make. A powerful cold front moved through the region and temperatures right now are about 40 degrees colder than this time yesterday. Gusty winds brought the cold air and numerous snow showers and heavier squalls. There will still be snow showers around tonight along with blowing snow. Additional accumulations will range from a coating to an inch or so east of I-99 but there will be a few inches on some of the ridges farther to the west. Temperatures through the overnight hours will drop into the teens with wind chills much lower than that. Friday will be windy and cold with scattered flurries and snow showers. Temperatures will only reach the upper teens to the lower 20s Friday afternoon. Saturday morning will start off with some peeks of sunshine which means that Phil may see his shadow once again. Don't forget that we will be covering Phil's appearance live just after 7:15am. The next disturbance will bring some snow showers later Saturday into Sunday. There will be another break then another disturbance will bring snow showers later Monday into Tuesday. Eventually the cold snap will ease with temperatures rising into the 30s early next week, perhaps reaching to near 40 later in the week as our up and down winter continues.
