Updated: Wednesday evening, January 16th
Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

The wintry mix has come to an end and temperatures will continue their slide toward 30 for Friday. Clouds will remain for most of the overnight hours as a weak disturbance moves in from the northwest. There will be flurries and snow showers Thursday, mainly North of I-80, but communities in the Laurel Highlands and along I-99 and I-70 could see a stray shower.

Another disturbance will brush past us to the south Thursday night into Friday, but the chance of precipitation from that disturbance is low right now.

Clouds will break some Friday and Saturday as high pressure starts to take hold. It will be displaced by a stronger front that will move in for Sunday, starting a period of colder temperatures and periods of snow that will last into the middle of next week and possibly beyond.
