HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY -- Several sources have confirmed Aaron Dishong, 62, of East Freedom, committed suicide in his Blair County Prison cell early Friday morning.

Dishong is charged in the November 15, 2012 Altoona fire that killed 3-year-old Darrel Etchison Jr.  His mother and 2-year-old sister jumped from a second floor window of the S. Second Street duplex.

Dishong was in court on Wednesday for his preliminary hearing on homicide, arson and other charges related to the case.  His charges were sent to county court for trial.

A family friend tells WTAJ that the Etchison family has been notified of Dishong's death.

Noone's judging, but also noone's thinking he's not going to hell. He deserves to burn. And burn he will.

Im not judging. I was taught that if a person kills, whether it be someone else or himself, he will be condemned to hell unless he repents for his sin(s). Obviously, Dishong could not repent for killing himself.

I have to agree with Patrick L on the first thoughts, but stop short of being the judge of where he may be spending eternity. Judge not, lest you be judged.

Good! Saved the The Etchisons a long drawn out emotional trial, the taxpayers a lot of money, and Dishong is just where he belongs, burning in Hell!!
