Emergency Centers Ready to Open

With high winds, plenty of rain and falling temperatures all in forecast, Emergency responders in the region say their work is cut out for them. At the Altoona Fire Department, the equipment and crews are ready and on stand by for any form of bad weather that sweeps through the region. Emergency Coordinator and Altoona Fire Chief Tim Hileman says the city's emergency operations center is ready to open and direct response teams.
Over at Blair County' 9-1-1 center, attention is on making sure adequate manpower is in place for the opening their emergency operations center The people in charge of local emergency response teams say their biggest concerns are flooding and loss of power that may follow high winds blowing though the area.
Emergency dispatchers predict there could be trouble ahead for both crews in the field and people that need their help.
