Parking Plan for Penn State's Rise and Rally

By: Carolyn Donaldson
Updated: July 30, 2012

Parking Plan for Rise & Rally:

University Police will close McKean Road at the Bigler Road intersection beginning at 5:15a.m. No vehicular traffic will be permitted into lots that are accessed via this roadway in order to prevent vehicle pedestrian conflicts. The roadway will reopen once the crowd has dispersed. Again, this is to ensure safety.

Faculty and staff who plan to attend should park in their assigned parking lot or in Eisenhower Parking Deck. Students are directed to park in their regularly assigned lot.

Visitors are directed to park in the commuter lots (Lot 44, Stadium West or Porter North), which are all located near Beaver Stadium. Blue Loop bus service is available from the bus stop on Curtin Road and on Porter Road. The Parking Office has authorized parking in the commuter lots until 9:00a.m. without a parking permit. Those choosing to walk to Holuba Hall from the commuter lots must cross at the Curtin Road intersection or the Hastings Road intersection. Visitors may also choose to park in the East Parking Deck located north of the Berkey Creamery on Bigler Road. Please note, however, that there is a $1.00 per hour charge for this parking option.

Please keep in mind that the setup of tables, tents, EZ ups, etc. is not permitted on any paved parking surfaces.
