The criminal trial of Sandusky is first part of legal proceedings that are expected to take a number of years to play out. The trial that has been going on in Bellfonte for the past couple of weeks is seen by one legal analyst as a first of series of legal dominoes.
How this trial turns out is expected to have a significant effect on the perjury case currently pending against two Penn State officials that is moving ahead in Harrisburg.
The outcome of the criminal case is also likely to shape the testimony that will be part of a number of civil cases that are expected to be filed in the months ahead.
Because the of the number of civil cases that could be filed as a result of the Sandusky investigation, some legal analysts expect those cases will likely take at least a couple of years to resolve.
