Psychological Evaluation Approved

BELLFONTE, CENTRE COUNTY - As the prosecution was winding down its case last week, Judge John Cleland granted a defense request to present expert testimony about a psychological condition that could affect Jerry Sandusky. The defense team wants to put forward the argument that Jerry Sandusky suffers from a "histronic personality disorder."
According to the defense, that condition could explain part of Sandusky's overly emotional attachment to and behavior around some young people. But before the defense can present that sort of psychological evaluation from their own expert, Judge John Cleland said the defendant had to make himself available for an interview with prosecution's psychologist. That could lead to different results from the opposing legal camps.
Sandusky was away from his home for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon so that he could be interviewed by the prosecution's psychologist. The results of that session are expected to be presented as part of the prosecution's rebuttal to the defense expert testimony presented later this week.
