Danielle Krout joined the WTAJ News Team as a general assignment reporter in October of 2008. She is the Johnstown Chief Bureau Reporter covering Cambria, Somerset, and Indiana Counties. Occasionally, she fills in on the anchor desk and produces the news.
Danielle takes the lead in covering news; she broke stories on the capture of several murder suspects from Louisiana to New Jersey. She also investigated several major issues in our region including out-of state sex offenders violating Pennsylvania registration. That led to law makers prompting a change which was Senate Bill 1183, she was recognized by local political leaders in March 2012.
Danielle began her broadcasting career at WJAC News in Johnstown as an intern. She later headed to West Virginia to work for WDTV before coming back here to Central PA. Before diving into news, Danielle graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Danielle enjoys travelling, reading and working out, but more importantly, she loves to spend time with her husband Ryan and their Yorkshire Terrier, Charlie. The Bucks County native is glad to be in the Keystone State and is thrilled to call Central Pennsylvania her home.
Danielle loves reporting it's her dream job simply because she can help others and make a difference in our community. She enjoys hearing from viewers and encourages you to email her with your story ideas, questions and comments, here: Dkrout@wtajtv.com
