The Friday round up of suspected dealer is according to attorney general office, the break up of a half million dollar drug ring that has been operating in three counties. Agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office and the Centre County Drug Task force members had nine arrest warrants when they went into action early Friday morning.
They were looking to pick up the people who sold heroin and cocaine to undercover agents on several occasions over the last year. The round up of suspected dealers was a follow up to a couple of arrests and raids in November of last year that resulted in a significant amount of drugs and illegal guns being seized.
After the November raids, investigators continued to gather evidence against those who were selling the selling those drugs around the region. That led to the latest arrests and serious criminal charges for those picked up.
Task force members say the eight people arrested on Friday were distributing the illegal drugs in Centre, Clinton, and Lycoming Counties. They added that drug operations appear to be spreading out because of better highway and communication networks.
