JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - A Johnstown student was honored for his writing this week.

The Concurrent Technology Corporation in Johnstown sponsored their fifth annual Great Americans Day essay contest this year. This year's topic was Dwight D. Eisenhower.

More than a dozen students submitted their essays. And Nathan Kindja's was chosen as the best. He wrote Eisenhower showed persistence, ingenuity, calmness under pressure, and sociality. He's an eighth grade student at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School in Johnstown. Sierra Smith came in second.
