Updated: Thursday Night, February 7th
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

Two storm systems will combine over the northeastern part of the nation and we will have some marginal effects. As the storm develops to our east, we will have a wintry mix develop across the region Friday. The precipitation will be steadier and heavier, especially during the afternoon. While the accumulations will be less than a few inches in most areas, there can be slippery travel and a winter weather advisory has been issued for the entire region. Total accumulations will generally be 1-4" south of I-80 with higher amounts north of I-80. Any snow will end later Friday night and any leftover clouds will give way to sunshine on Saturday. It will be windy on the backside of this storm Friday night into early Saturday. Temperatures will rise back into the 30s Saturday and then to near 40 on Sunday with a sunny to partly cloudy sky. The next system will cut to our west and will be more of a rainmaker on Monday. There will be a little break on Tuesday before some rain and snow showers likely Wednesday though what happens in the long range will really be dependent on how the atmosphere settles behind this New England storm.
