JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies helps people and organizations do more, including Second Chance Fire Recovery Services.

Bonnie Foust met with CFA on Thursday.  She is hoping to take her mission of helping fire victims to the next level.

"It's the start of something I think is needed," said Foust.

Foust and a few of her friends started Second Chance Fire Recovery Services during the summer of 2012.  Since then they've help a number of fire victim who lost everything get a 'second chance."

"I enjoy helping others, it makes me feel good," said Foust.

The group has seen an overwhelming amount of donations come in over the last few months, so much in fact it's motivated Foust to want to do more, but she needed a starting point.

'We work with people here, give them the tools they need to do things in the right way," said Mike Kane, President of Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.  "They're the heroes; we're just here to help."

CFA saw a record number of contributions totaling $11,877,736 and made a record number of grants totaling $3,692,280. The Community Foundation passed the $50 million mark for the first time, reaching $50,147,436 in net assets.

"I am very excited to see where this goes," said Foust.
