The crash happened on September 3, 2010 along Route 271 in Northern Cambria. Richard and Lois Davis were killed in that crash after they were hit head on by Sherwood.
Sherwood was charged with being under the influence of drugs after leaving a methadone clinic in Johnstown. The trial has been delayed because of the investigating officer being deployed overseas as well waiting test results.
"The victim's family is frustrated, but they understand because they know it takes time to get the test results and evidence we need to prove our case," said Assistant District Attorney Gary Jubas.
"The death of an individual is sad... but we have to defend our client," said Defense Attorney Tom Dickey. "We are going through all of the reports and hope to get this to trial soon."
Sherwood remains out on bond while awaiting a trial date.
