Jay Paterno Responds to Freeh Report

In Jay's words, "one of the things i can tell you about Joe, wins and loses were among things mattered to him the least.. There were times he sat players out of game and even being on the coaching staff, we would say 'he's eligible he doesn't have any academic issues' and Joe would say 'it's important for us to understand that wins and losses are secondary.'
"Anyone who wants to characterize him as someone who would cover up something this heinous for his own reputation or for wins and losses just simply is mis-characterizing it. "
And Jay Paterno said his father did not interfere with the investigation into allegations against Jerry Sandusky and that his dad didn't suspect that Sandusky was a child predator.
