PHILADELPHIA - The weekend conviction of Jerry Sandusky continues to draw the attention of the Nation and top Pennsylvania Officials.  Governor Tom Corbett and Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly appeared on air Monday morning to defend this state's handling of the Jerry Sandusky criminal case.

In reviewing the verdict on CBS News This Morning, the Governor made it clear that in his view, there is still a problem with children being abused.  But the Governor believes the Sandusky verdict will play a role in calling attention to the issue.

Both the Governor and Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly pointed out that there are still a number of investigations related to the Sandusky case underway. The Attorney General said that  while some information on additional criminal charges is starting to come out,   the State's investigation still has a long way to go before it can be considered wrapped up.

Governor Corbett in particular called attention to the time and effort that went into the Sandusky Investigation and said he looks forward to the information and recommendations that will be part of the on-going Penn State Investigation that is currently underway.

Comments

Gov. corbett was on the CBS morning news show and never even mentioned that he was the Attorney General of PA for most of the time that the case dragged on. You can't tell me that it should take that long to put something together to take Sandusky out of circulation.

Are you kidding me?!? Corbett needs to go. He stated that Joe Paterno had to go because he didn't do enough for the position he was in. Excuse me, I remember the AG of PA not doing anything in 2008, now he is Govenor. I'm not sure what a football coach can do that a Govenor of PA can't. Anyone have any ideas on that?
