Defense attorney Joe Amendola said this trial is like a soap opera. "General Hospital" or..."All my Children". If so, then their star was Dottie Sandusky. They hoped she could convince the jury that the Sandusky's are a normal, loving family.
Dottie Sandusky, took the stand in Jerry's defense Tuesday afternoon. She said she remembers all but 3 of the accusers in this case. She characterized several different accusers as "conniving," "charming," "demanding" and "clingy" to Jerry.
She says she never saw or suspected any inappropriate contact between her husband and his alleged victims. She told the court that her husband only went down to say goodnight to the boys who slept over in the basement and that she didn't fall asleep before him.
Accuser 9 testified earlier in the trial that Jerry attacked him in the Sandusky's basement. And once he tried to cry out for help while Dottie was upstairs. He thought that she couldn't hear him because perhaps the basement was soundproof. Dottie Sandusky said on the stand Tuesday that the basement where the boys would stay wasn't soundproof.
She is not charged in this case, but if it's discovered that Dottie knew of any situations of abuse, she could be charged for endangering the welfare of a child.
