Joe's Resort Review:
This is where it all began for me. My first trip to a ski resort was to Peek N Peak in late December of 1987. I was on break during my freshman year and a friend took me on my first trip. She and some others told me a few tips, put me on the chair, and then left me on the top of the mountain. It wasn't funny then, but is humorous now. I wish my old self could have known that I would eventually get it.
Peek N Peak is best suited for a nice family getaway. It's small and quaint and skewed more to the beginner skier, which is one my first trip as as successful at it was. There greens are quite gentle and their blues and blacks are not quite as challenging as other resorts in the region. Being nestled in western New York, it is prone to getting bands of heavy lake effect snow. This is a distinct advantage in years without major snow storms and can make the trip northward quite worthwhile.
