Juniata Valley Reading Club

Congratulations to the Juniata Valley Elementary Reading Club teams for bringing home two top spots at the Appalachia IU8 Interscholastic Reading Competition.

It was held at Forest Hills Middle School on Apr. 12.

Nearly 60 schools competed, including Juniata Valley's two teams.

The JV Elites won the 1st Place trophy and the JV Smart Readers won a 2nd Place ribbon.

The club has been reading a list of 42 books since early December and met as a group on Mondays after school. They have worked extremely hard and are proud of their accomplishments.

The kids are coached by 5th Grade teacher Kelly Johnson and 6th Grade teachers Janet Mowrer and Karen Baker.

Regina returned to WTAJ in 2004 as a Weekend Weather Anchor while continuing her education and receiving her Certificate of Meteorology.
