Pedro Alvarez Reports to Altoona

The Pittsburgh Pirates top prospect made his presence felt in Altoona Monday night reporting to the Curve after being promoted from single-A Lynchburg on Sunday. Pedro Alvarez, the Pirates first round draft pick from one year ago, was hitting .247 with 14 home runs for the Hill-Cats in 66 games played. He will make his Curve debut Tuesday night in Erie against the Sea Wolves

Justin Howard works some offense, but the Curve go down after a 3-run homer the 9th inning, 5-2....
