VATICAN CITY - The first day of voting concluded without a 2/3 majority of votes needed to elect a new Pope according to CBS News.

77 of 115 Cardinal votes are required for a new Pope to be selected.

A total of four votes are to take place Wednesday.

If 33 rounds of voting come and go without any of the candidates receiving the necessary majority, a runoff between the top two candidates is expected under relatively new rules.
