ELK COUNTY - Drugs are in the streets, in our communities and even in the work place.
" We don't want people to feel there is a health scare, but people need to educate themselves and be aware of what's happening" said Susan Ford of the Clearfield, Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission.
"We know it's a common problem in a rural area as it is anywhere" said Pam Streich the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission.
Streich states after seeing residents' interest they decided to plan a drug awareness event on April 16.
Drug Use, across Rural Pennsylvania, is increasingly becoming a Major Problem with our Youth and in our Communities. There will be a FREE Drug Awareness Presentation being provided on April 16 in our Region. The presenter, Elaine Surma, Senior Supervisory Special Agent from the PA Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotic Investigation and Drug Control will be in Ridgway to give the presentations.
