ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - With one group of students returning to Central Pennsylvania from a cheerleading competition, Altoona Area High School students are going to defend their title.

The team is undefeated this year and has won their district the past two years. They boarded a bus for Halfmoon Township Friday afternoon, and hoping to bring the gold home.

"They're excited, they're nervous, they're also pretty confident," said gymnastics coach Michele Corle. "They worked hard, they had a great season and they're really motivated."

Corle said the key to their success this year has been the girl's sense of teamwork.
