ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - The State Department of Education published their annual list of low-achieving schools, and four schools in our area are on the list.

All schools on the list are in the lowest 15% in math and reading scores in the PSSA's. Students who go to the schools on the list can apply for a scholarship to go to a different school.

In our area, Wright Elementary School in Altoona, Greater Johnstown Middle School and the West Side Elementary School in Johnstown, and Somerset Area High School are all on that low-achieving list.
