Frontier Girls Visit Central PA Live
By: Dawn Pellas
Updated: January 18, 2013
On today's show, The Frontier Girls join Dawn in the studio to talk about their group. It was founded on January 19, 2007 as an alternative to Girl Scouts and provides a scout like program for girls that goes back to the values and goals of the original Girl Scouts.
Group Leader Lori Shaw says, "Our mission is to raise women of honor to be the mothers and leaders of the future through life skills, leadership, character building, teamwork and service to others. To the best of my knowledge we are the only troop on this side of the state."
To Learn more about Troop 213 in Gallitzin, contact Lori Shaw.
Cost to join is $25 per girl or $50 per family.
Frontier Girls Programs are sponsored by non-profit groups such as churches, schools and fire companies. They can be privately owned, but you are not allowed to make a profit.
