DUNCANSVILLE, BLAIR COUNTY - A number of gun enthusiasts in this region have real concerns about the call in Washington for new restrictions on some types of firearms and additional regulations on gun ownership.

Reaction from the sportsmen and gun customers in one Blair County gun store was strongly against the latest moves of the Obama administration.  The sportsmen collect and use their guns say this latest Washington effort to curb gun violence misses its mark.

Customers lined up at the gun counter of the Allegheny Trade Company say the ambitious gun control push delivered in Washington takes aim at the wrong group of people. Restricting the types of weapons legitimate customers can purchase and carry was seen by them as a step in the wrong direction.

Among the gun buyers, any move to place additional restriction on the types or configuration of legally available weapons places the blame for gun violence in the wrong place.  The local supporters of gun rights say they will be doing all they can to keep some of new arms control proposals from becoming law.
