CLEARFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Plans for a new solid waste landfill near Clearfield are being considered by the state.

According to the Department of Environmental Protection, PA Waste LLC would like to build Camp Hope Run Landfill on a 2,000 acre plot of land.

The proposal includes an 850 acre disposal area. The site would accept up to 5,000 tons of waste per day, and would have capacity for 25 years.

PA Waste LLC had proposed a similar bid in 2006, but it was rejected by the DEP. The proposed landfill would be located about seven miles south of Clearfield.
