The  federally funded  Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program started offering crisis grants  in Pennsylvania to help low income people struggling to heat their homes.

This is the second phase of LIHEAP-- which has been offering cash assistance since November 1st.

The crisis grants  now available are in place for home heating emergencies such as broken equipment or  a lack of fuel.
Income guidelines and applications  for the program are available at LIHEAP.
