HUNTINGDON -- People working at a local correctional institute make sure others will have a Merry Christmas.

This is the 11th year for the Child of Dream program at SCI Smithfield.

They raised $14,000  to sponsor a Make-A-Wish child, donated more than a 100 food baskets, and supported several other charities.

They also gave $1,000 to the Marklesburg Fire Company for their underwater camera fund.

George Yartin organized the program to give back to the community and raise morale for the workers.

As Yartin explains, "It's awesome. The staff is phenomenal here.  I know it's tough times for a lot of people but were fortunate that we have good jobs and that we can help those that really need our help, and everyone in this room today feeling really good about what we did."

The people at SCI Smithfield have raised $115,000 and given $100,000 worth of gifts in the last 11 years.
