Evening Forecast Monday, December 10th, 2012

The mild pattern continued today despite a good deal of clouds and periods of rain. A cold front is now crossing the region and will help to return us to a more typical weather pattern for this time of the year. Rain will continue early tonight, and as the front pushes to the east, the rain may mix with snow before starting to taper off later tonight. There will be little or no accumulation with exception for some of the Laurel Highlands which may have a little covering in spots with the possibility for a few slick spots into the morning hours. Behind this front, Tuesday will be a blustery and cold day. The day will start mostly cloudy with scattered flurries and snow showers, especially near and west of Route 219. The clouds will try to break for some sunshine , especially during the afternoon and near and west of I-99. A ridge of high pressure will then slide into the region and give us tranquil weather for the rest of the work week. Sunshine will mix with some high clouds  on Wednesday as a disturbance passes to our east, then Thursday and Friday should feature a good deal of sunshine. Each day will be seasonable with highs ranging from the upper 30s on Wednesday to the middle 40s on Friday. The next storm system will make an approach for the upcoming weekend. Sunshine will give way to clouds and then some rain and snow is likely Saturday night into Sunday. We'll have a better feel on how much of each as time gets closer.
