The Central PA Humane Society cares for about 5,000 animals each year. They provide food, shelter and love for their furry friends. Now, they need your help. Their goal this year is to rais $100,000 to keep their doors open.

This Saturday, they will be at Logan Valley Mall in Altoona from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 2nd level near Eddie Bauer and AT&T. There will be adoptable pets, gift ideas, prizes and holiday campaign boxes for your donations.

Boxes can be found throughout Central PA at various businesses including: Oak Spring Winery (beside JCPenney) and The Sports Shop (across from Old Navy) in the Logan Valley Mall, The Brew Zoo, Pellegrines, CPHS Thrift Shop, and the Greenwood Steakhouse.

To donate online, use the PayPal button on the Central PA Humane Society website.

You can also send a tax-deductible contribution to:

CPHS 1837
East Pleasant Valley Blvd.
Altoona, PA 16602
