Running For Support

By: Aaron Cheslock
Updated: November 17, 2012

High schoolers partner with the organization "Tides" for their second annual 5k run and walk Saturday morning at State College High. About 75 people braved the cold to run for the cause. Lisa Finton, the Executive Director of Tides, says t was about community members and students, being there for each other.

"It's a wonderful thing to see, and were just grateful that people rally to give each other what they need. It's a holidays, and it's difficult for people who have lost somebody during the holiday season and for everybody to come out and support each other through a run, it's just a nice community event."

There was hot chocolate, coffee and breakfast for everyone when it was over. If you'd like more information on Tides, visit their website, www.tidesprogram.org
