Two area hospitals released an update on their efforts to form  a countywide health system.

Altoona Regional Health System and Nason Hospital announced in August that they were negotiating   a possible partnership. On Monday,  the two hospitals announced that they're still talking.

They hope to save money by coordinating their care in Blair County. Any agreement would need the approval of both hospital boards.

Meantime, Altoona Regional  is also talking with  several larger regional health care organizations about a possible partnership .
