But a new study in the Annals of Internal Medicine finds other kinds of follow ups -- including blood tests and CT scans - have the same survival rates with fewer complications and a lower cost.
Other experts argue most people prefer to endure a colonoscopy and never have colorectal cancer, than to suffer with cancer and survive.
