LOGAN TOWNSHIP, BLAIR COUNTY - There was a significant amount of wind damage in parts of Blair County.  One of the areas hardest hits was on a hilltop in Logan Township where a number of trees came down.

Clean up crews were busy on Tuesday morning dealing with the large trees that were up rooted in the Beverly Hills area of the township.  That residential neighborhood is up on a hillside off of Juniata Gap Road.

The strong winds on Monday night were more than some trees could take.  After the ground was saturated by the heavy rain, several trees toppled over when a portion of their root systems pulled right out of the ground.  Some utility lines were pulled down   One house was damaged when a falling tree hit a corner of the roof.

One unfortunate resident got up Tuesday morning to find his 1999 GMC pick-up truck crushed by a falling tree. Dennis Olewine says his has lived in that neighborhood for thirty two years and has never experienced the sort of damage that occurred over night. He adds that while his truck was totaled,  he's just pleased that no one was hurt when the huge tree toppled over about midnight.
