Electric Co-Op Working to Restore Power

HUNTINGDON - Several thousand Valley Rural Electric members remained without power Tuesday, following damage from "superstorm" Sandy.
The energy co-op reported the number of outages peaked at 6,019 around 6 a.m.
A spokesperson said most service disruptions were caused by downed tree limbs.
As of 7:15 a.m., on Valley lines in Central Pa., Blair County had 1,964 and Huntingdon County had 2,107.
An entire feeder line from the Mount Union, Huntingdon County substation site lost power overnight.
Also, a Valley transmission line that runs from Puzzletown to Blue Knob, Blair County, was out of service early Tuesday morning.
