UPPER TURKEYFOOT TOWNSHIP, SOMERSET COUNTY -- Hurricane Sandy is being blamed for a fatal crash in Somerset County.

It happened at around 9:30 pm Monday in Upper Turkeyfoot Township.  Police said a 51-year-old female driver lost control because of snow or slush on the road and rolled over into a farm pond.

While the driver escaped, the passenger remained trapped underwater in the SUV.  Police are investigating.

The driver is from Confluence.  Neither the driver's name, nor the passengers has been released.
