River Flood Warnings

The National Weather Service In State College, Pa Has Issued A Flood Warning For The Following Rivers In Pennsylvania...

The Juniata River has warnings in place at Huntingdon from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.

At 6 p.m., the river was flowing at 2.68 feet. Flood stage for the river is 12 feet. Over the next 36 hours, the river is forecast to rapidly rise to flood stage and crest around 12.8 feet. At 13.0 feet, homes outside the levee system as susceptable to flooding. The river is currently forecast to drop below flood stage some time October 31st.

The Raystown Branch of the Juniata River at Saxton has a flood warning in effect from Tuesday evening until Wednesday afternoon or until cancelled.

At 6 p.m., the river was flowing at 2.14 feet. Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Over the next 36 hours, the river is forecast to rise and crest around 18.3 feet. If the river reaches 19 feet, several homes on the east bank of Stonerstown and other low lying areas will be affected. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage during the day Wednesday.

The Little Juniata River at Spruce Creek has a flood warning in effect from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning or until cancelled.

At 6:30 p.m., the river was flowing at 2.45 feet. Flood stage is 8.0 feet. Over the next 36 hours, the river is forecast to rise and crest around 9.5 feet. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
