Ashley Corrie and Ryan Kegg met back in 2005. Both had recently gone through some very tough times. Ashley's best friend passed away. She says she was headed down a path filled with sadness. Ryan had recently returned home to the United States after years in the Army.  He was working hard to adjust to civilian life again.
