BELLEFONTE, CENTRE COUNTY - Jerry Sandusky's attorney Joe Amendola says Sandusky is preparing for a lengthy sentence that could very well mean life in prison for the 68 year-old former football coach.

Amendola says Sandusky will maintain his innocence in a statement to the court Tuesday. He says that statement will give Sandusky the chance to speak to the Judge and court about his feelings toward the case.

Jerry Sandusky will learn his fate Tuesday morning at 9 A-M at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.

"Essentially, he is going to say that he's innocent and he's going to work at a new trial," his Attorney Joe Amendola said.

Amendola says Sandusky will maintain his innocence, just as he has since day one, but that's something WTAJ Legal Expert Tony DeBoef says is not smart.

"If he doesn't show an remorse tomorrow and continues to say 'I didn't do something,' anything incorrectly or legal or criminal, I don't think that's going to help him with the judge much," DeBoef said.

Sandusky faces anywhere from 60 to 442 years in state prison. Under Pennsylvania Court Law, Judge John Cleland is required to give Jerry Sandusky a minimum of 10 to 20 years on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

DeBoef says he expects the judge to seek much more. "I don't think you're going to see 10 years, I think you're going to see somewhere in the 100 year range," he said.

Juror 11 from Sandusky's trial says she feels a longer sentence is ultimately what will help the victims start to heal.

"I think it's important for a sense of completion and for us to see that the victims are having their completion and that everything is really coming to a close," Ann Van Kuren said.

Six of Jerry Sandusky's victims are anticipated to speak at the Sentencing Hearing Tuesday in what is called a victim impact statement. These statements will be the victims' opportunity to face their abuser and talk about how the abuse has affected them.

We expect Sandusky's attorneys to speak first, followed next by the Prosecution, then the victims, and finally Jerry Sandusky himself.
