Troop 300 in Tyrone, PA, has chosen to renovate Tyrone's Soldiers Park for an Eagle Scout Project. The Borough of Tyrone awarded its approval for the project on August 13th, 2012.
The "Eagle for Freedom" project will consist of 7 new flagpoles with a light at the base of each. There will be a small 36 ft. long wall behind the flagpoles to resemble the Vietnam wall. Throughout the center of the new memorial, in-and-around the stone and the "doughboy" monuments, will be Patriotic Pavers bearing the names of past and present servicemen from all branches of the military. The path leading into the new memorial has been reserved for the names of local businesses who have shown their support for the men that have fought the foes of freedom.
You can also buy Veteran Bricks for the project!
