Update: Coalport Burglary

COALPORT, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Friday night around 9:00pm, State Police in Clearfield say Barbra Trent's home on Forest Street, in Coalport, was burglarized. The person took about $800 cash.

When Trent came home the burglar hit her over the head, knocking her to the ground and fled the scene. She suffered a minor concussion and was even back in the emergency room on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, no one has been taken into custody. Your News Leader did learn Trent's husband is chief of the Ashville police department.

People in the small town of Coalport say they are now locking their doors and checking their windows to be sure they are safe. The town has less than 1,000 residents and each of them say this is rare for the area.

As a side not, the same house that was burglarized caught on fire 5 months ago and police continue investigating the cause.
